As If He Didn’t Know

This is the scene: Moses and the Israelites are in the desert. The Israelites are complaining to Moses because all they have to eat is manna and they want some meat. Back in Egypt they had all the meat their heart’s desired; why can’t they have meat now. God tells Moses that He is going to give the people meat to eat, and not just for one day or two days but for a whole month. Moses tells the Lord (as if He didn’t know) that there are six hundred thousand people (Jesus fed 20,000; His Dad fed 600,000). God’s response to Moses is this: “Is the LORD’s hand shortened? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not.” (Num. 11:23)

Let me encourage you that God’s hand is in fact not shortened. That when God speaks, He always does what He says. God has told us that anything we ask in His name will be given. He will clothe us, feed us, provide for us. He will always be with us and never forsake us. He will give us authority over every dark force. He will be our helper in time of need. He will never remove His love from us. He will give us the words to say when we need them. He will use our trials for our refinement. He will satisfy our souls. He will build His church. He will resurrect us and give us eternal life. Praise God that we never have to question our God’s faithfulness. Hope you have a great week in the Lord.
