Do all roads lead to Rome? Do all roads lead to heaven? Many would say yes. Let’s say that we suppose that pluralism is true for a moment. (Pluralism teaches that all world religions are true and are just different human expressions to the same divine reality). If Pluralism is true, then by definition Christianity is true; and what Jesus said is true. However, Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one gets to heaven except by Him. Well, if that is true, then by definition, all other religions are not true. If all other religions are not true, then pluralism cannot be true. The reality is the impossibility for pluralism, in its most raw definition, to be true. Either Christianity must be true, or “pluralism minus any exclusive religion” be true. However, “pluralism minus any religion” is a self-contradicting statement. My challenge is to help people see that Christianity and Islam/Hinduism/Buddhism cannot all be true at the same time. If Christianity is true, then by definition the rest are false and vice versa. We cannot deny this fact.
