The story from the sermon this Sunday is about four men willing to do whatever it takes to get a broken man to Jesus. (Luke 5:17-26) Of course this story should cause us to ask, “What am I willing to do to get somebody to Jesus?” Am I willing to invite a friend to church? And even after they turn me down, am I willing to invite them a second time? Am I willing to pick up somebody to get them to church or a bible study? Am I willing to go to the broken and the broken-hearted and bring Jesus to them? Am I willing to risk ridicule, rejection, and reproach in an attempt to get people to Jesus? Am I willing to forgo comfort, complacency and convenience to get people to Jesus? The truth is most of us, if not all of us, had someone in our life bring us to Jesus. And even if we found our way to Jesus on our own, most of us had someone show us the way to continue pursuing Jesus. Will you become this someone for another person’s life? How many people out there would come to church or a Bible study if someone just invited them? And how many of those who did come would actually get saved as a result of being there?
