Choose Obedience

God tells the Israelites in Deuteronomy 30:19: “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse.” Their life was obedience and their curse was disobedience. In the very same fashion, God has set before us life and death-to choose obedience or disobedience. Obedience to God often appears to our eyes as hard and burdensome. Yet Jesus tells us that his “yoke is easy and His burden is light” Matt. 11:30. John tells us that “His commandments are not burdensome” 1 John 5:3. I want to encourage you this week to choose obedience to God. If it seems too difficult, it’s not because it is too difficult. God has given us His Spirit to be able to make the choice to choose obedience, when our flesh desires disobedience. Obedience always leads to life and disobedience always leads to death. Therefore, obey, and choose to live.
