On Wednesday 5/27, WA Gov. Jay Inslee announced “Phase 1 Religious Service Guidelines.” You can find it here (link).

As such, we have decided to reopen physical gatherings at CSBC. Outdoor service will resume starting from Sunday, 6/7/20 at 10:00am in the church parking lot. Below are the guidelines:

  • Masks
    • Masks will be required
    • No admittance into the church lot will be granted without a mask.
    • Masks must be worn during the duration of the service, including singing.
    • If you do not have a mask, please let us know, and we will do our best to provide you with one.
  • Seating
    • We ask you to bring your own chair (lawn chair, folding chair, etc.)
    • If you prefer to stand during the entire service, that is fine too.
    • If you do not have a chair, or will be walking/biking to church, we can provide a chair for you.
  • Social Distancing
    • Everyone must sit/stand 6 feet apart, in all directions.
    • No touching is allowed – no handshakes, high fives, hugs, pats on the back, etc.
    • Please try not to stand/sit much more than 6 feet apart, so that we can fit more people
    • After service is over, we will limit conversation time to 15 minutes and then we will kindly ask people to head home.
  • Exceptions to Social Distancing
    • Families that live in the same household can all sit together.
    • Housemates that live in the same household can all sit together.
    • If you are consistently seeing someone indoors (at least once a week), then you can also sit together.
  • Parking
    • The Summit School has agreed to let us park in their lot on both Friday Night and Sunday morning.
    • The school can fit 30 cars – please use every space, including the handicapped spaces.
    • Once the school lot is full, we can fit another 10-12 cars inside the church parking lot.
    • The tree that is inside the lot, near the EM building, will be the cutoff space. Please park south of that tree.
  • Transportation
    • Please carpool with your families, housemates, etc.
    • If you do not have a car, and need a ride, AND if you are ok with someone picking you up, please let us know, and we will arrange for someone to pick you up and take you home.
  • Platform/Microphones
    • The worship leader and pastor will stand on the platform that is on the backside of the Chinese building
    • This means you can stand/sit on the pavement, the grass area under the tree, or the gravel.
  • Worship Songs
    • We are not sure yet if Powerpoint will be an option. If it is, we will use it.
    • If not, the worship leader will put up the songs titles ahead of time on the Resources page and you can pull them up on your phone.
  • Nursery/Childcare
    • We are unable to provide nursery/childcare at this time.
    • However, we welcome children to sit with you in the service. Please do not let fear of noise or distraction keep you from coming. We are a family integrated church!
  • Ushers
    • Only the north door to the EM building will be open.
    • Ushers will only allow 2 males and 2 females in at a time – one for the bathroom downstairs and one for the bathroom upstairs.
    • An usher will open the gate for you as well. Please don’t touch the gate so as to minimize the number of touches.
    • We will use the “Buddy System” for returning to our cars on Friday.
  • Giving/Bulletins
    • We will continue to do online giving only during this time.
    • We will also not have a bulletin during this time, the bulletin info will be sent out electronically.
  • Lord’s Supper
    • We plan to have the Lord’s Supper on Sunday (6/7).
    • We will order prefilled/prepackaged juice/wafer that the Pastor will pass out.
    • More instructions will be given on the day of.
  • Weather
    • Service times may be altered to accommodate the weather. Please check with Pastor Matt for any time changes.
  • For those unable to attend
    • We plan to provide Zoom, so that you can still participate in “Prayer in Breakout Rooms,” “Discussion in Breakout Rooms,” along with the other aspects of the service.
    • If you are sick, for any reason, we humbly ask that you stay home.
