Everything for a Purpose

Hello Church Family, Have you ever wondered “Why did this happen to me?” Of course you have. We probably ask ourselves that question, at some point, every day. Why does there need to be a traffic jam when I’m running late? Why is my boss singling me out today? Why did my high heel need to break today? Why did I have to get a parking ticket today? Why can’t it be sunny today? Why did I have to get this job? Why does my spouse have to act this way? Why is it that on my one off day, I have to go and do this?

We have all wondered, perhaps thousands of times, why did this have to happen? What if nothing was coincidental in life? What if God actually orchestrated every last single detail in our life–even something as trivial as a high heel breaking–for a purpose? If that’s true, then we have to ask ourselves, not why did this happen, but God, what do you want me to learn from this experience? God what do you want me to learn from this job that I really don’t like? God what do you want me to learn from this friend that is really needy right now? God what do you want me to learn from my high heel breaking?

Lam. 3:37-39– “Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come?”

Be encouraged that everything that happens in your life has a purpose. Nothing happens, no matter how serious or trivial, without a purpose. God is teaching us something through every experience.
