David writes, “Let the morning bring me a word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” (Psalm 143:8, 10)
I find five encouraging truths in this passage and I hope you do as well:
1. The world, our jobs, our friends, our family, ourselves…may fail us, but God’s love never fails.
2. We must trust that God’s love never fails. We will be tempted to believe that God has let us down, or forgotten about us, but He has not.
3. If we ask God for direction, He will lead us…we may not like the path, the timing or the bruises it brings, but God will lead if we but ask.
4. God’s will is not hidden from us. He is not a God who is aloof, but a God that delights to show us His will.
5. God is a good Father and He will not lead us off a cliff. The path may be winding, but we can be sure it is there.
