I think somewhere between 90 to 99% of all Christians struggle with evangelism. What do I say? How do I say it? What if they don’t want to hear it? Maybe I’m bothering them. I don’t know enough to share. What if they ask me questions I don’t know the answer to? Who should I approach? They won’t care anyway. I always get rejected so what’s the point? This is not my gifting. How in the world do I transition into the Gospel without being awkward?
These and many more are all questions and thoughts that handicap us from sharing the Gospel. I believe the most encouraging verse in Scripture in response to these questions and thoughts is this:
“And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.” (Mark 13:11)
God doesn’t need our theology, Bible knowledge, desire for man’s acceptance, eloquence, comfort, profiling, or reasoning to save a person. God simply commands that our mouths are moving and He will take care of the rest.
