Intentional Encounters

I am not somebody who believes very much in coincidence or chance. James Yan and I met at Uwajimaya on Thursday to have lunch. We were contemplating where to sit and finally chose a spot; however before we could sit down, someone took the spot we chose. This forced us to choose another table. While eating, we found ourselves discussing the topic of heaven/hell along with evolution. James made a comment asking what would someone think if they passed by and listened to what we were saying. In the middle of an explanation of why I accept creationism, a gentlemen sitting next to us decided to jump in the conversation. Turns out he is a scientist at UW and an atheist. He began by vehemently arguing for evolution and suggesting that Christians like myself are ignorant for rejecting such scientific fact. We calmly listened to him and ended up having a good dialogue. Now one could say that it was merely chance that we happened to be sitting next to him. I, however, like to think that God specifically placed us there so this man could here the Gospel.
