Love Never Fails

Did you know that the most looked up Bible passages online are John 3:16, 1 Cor. 13, Genesis 1, Romans 8 and Psalm 23. I find it interesting that two of these passages have connotations of the beginning and end of man: Genesis 1 telling the account of how man came into being and Psalm 23 which is often read at funerals. The other 3 passages all have one common theme: Love. John 3:16 of course talks about the reason why God sent His Son- Love. Romans 8, perhaps the greatest chapter in all of Scripture, ends with the assurance that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. And last 1 Cor. 13 is what we commonly call the love chapter. Verses 4-8 in this passage are frequently read at weddings, whether it is a Christian wedding or not. I find it fascinating that even non-Christians would turn to the Bible for an appropriate definition of love. 1 Cor. 13 certainly raises the bar for how we are to love, but praise be to God that we have His Spirit to enable us to do so.
