Waiting for Precious Fruit

Are you currently waiting for something? Maybe an answer from the Lord, maybe direction, maybe guidance. Patience is perhaps the one virtue that almost everybody will confess they could use more of. James writes, “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.” Immediately after James adds, “You also be patient. Strengthen your hearts.” The Lord will give you the answer, direction, and guidance that you need. In the meantime, His will for you is to be patient and strengthen your heart. God delays in His responses so that our hearts will become spiritually strong and be able to withstand the trials life brings. Waiting is rarely fun, but sometimes waiting on the Lord is the only means to find Him.
