If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you will be called to do things that do not make sense. They won’t make sense to your friends, your co-workers, maybe even your family. I was reading in Joshua 6 the other day about the fall of Jericho. God’s means for the people to defeat Jericho was to march around the city once, every day for six days. On the seventh day they were to march around seven times. They had to remain silent the entire time until the seventh march was completed. They would then shout and the walls of Jericho would fall down. Does that make sense to any of you? Wouldn’t a good catapult or battering ram work better? God’s not interested in us making sense to society. Be willing to look foolish. I’m sure the Israelites looked foolish marching around that city. I want to encourage you this week to stay strong in your walk with God, even if nobody understands you. I would rather be an obedient fool than a disobedient sage.
