Love is patient. That means impatience with anybody for any reason is unloving.
Love is kind. That means “keeping to oneself” all the time is unloving.
Love does not envy. That means to love, we are happy when another person succeeds.
Love is neither boastful nor arrogant. That means when I think of myself too highly, I’m actually being unloving.
Love is not rude. That means impropriety is unloving.
Love is not self-seeking. That means to love, I must consider the needs of others as more important than my own needs.
Love is not irritable. That means when I am easily frustrated, I am being unloving.
Love does not keep score. That means seeking fairness is actually unloving.
Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. That means being silent about another’s sin is actually unloving.
Love has no boundaries. That means there is never a time that I can’t make a decision to love someone.
If we attempt to love like this in our own power, we will fail every time. However, if we walk in the Spirit and love through His power, we will succeed every time.
