Glorious Humility

God has been and continues to teach me so much about what it means to be humble. The funny thing is, the moment I think I’m humble, what is doing the “thinking” is my pride. One thing that God has been teaching me is that humility is difficult because we all have this innate desire to be “more”. We want greatness and glory. We want something greater than mediocrity. And honestly, I’m not sure that we can do away with that desire, nor should we. I think that desire is placed there by God. The desire for greatness and glory is a Godly desire, not a worldly one. It only becomes worldly when we attempt to achieve that through our means instead of His. I want to encourage you to not be afraid to decrease in your life so that He can increase in your life. The decreasing seems so fruitless and unenjoyable at the time….but that’s only true when we focus on our decreasing instead of His increasing. We were created to desire Greatness. We were created to desire Glory. But humility is finding them in Christ instead of ourselves. Take joy this week in our Great and Glorious King!!
