Keep Building

I was reading in 1 Kings 9 the other day and I noticed that God appeared to Solomon two times. The first time was at Gibeon when God told Solomon he could ask for anything his heart desired and Solomon requested wisdom. It was not until 20 years later that God appeared to Solomon again. Imagine seeing God and being granted whatever you wished and then not seeing Him again for 20 years.

What was Solomon doing for those 20 years? Building two houses: the Lord’s and his own. I think sometimes we have these magnificent moments in our life where everything seems to be going great. And then, all of a sudden, we find ourselves not quite sure what the next step is or how we got to where we are. And we wonder, “God, what are you doing?” My encouragement to you is to keep building. Finish the task that God has set before you. All we need to worry about is being faithful today. God will take care of the past and He will take care of the future. Our focus is walking with God today.
