Healing and Miracle ministries have always been popular and they continue to be so today. I have some serious concerns regarding these ministries however. Whether they are real or fake is not the main issue. The question is “Are they biblical?” One extremely popular healing ministry on TV reportedly took in $89 million dollars in 2002 alone. Most of these “healers/miracle workers” drive fancy cars, fly in personal jets and live in million dollar homes. Is there anything wrong with that? Paul wrote in 2 Cor. 2:17 that he and the other apostles did not peddle God’s word for profit. Peter and John told the lame beggar in Acts 3:6 that they had neither silver nor gold. Paul tells the Philippian church that he is not seeking a gift (Phil 4:17). Paul tells Titus that an overseer must not be greedy for gain (Titus 1:7). Anyone who is using a gift of the Holy Spirit to make a profit cannot be biblical nor pleasing to the Lord.
